  1. Thank you VT for this “Speaking Truth to Empire” radio interview of Kathy Kelly. I had the privilege of being arrested with Kathy at a protest against the School of the Americas at Ft. Benning, GA where Latino soldiers are trained in counterintelligence and torture against anyone their current elites deemed “the enemy”. Even more disturbing is the subtle and not so subtle material and mental corruption of the trainees leading them to believe that American consumer “democracy” and its corporate ties to their nation’s elites (read resource extraction) is far superior to their own local, traditional, and native values. I witnessed Kathy being roughed up by young Army rangers (told I’m sure that she was a terrorist) for “trespassing” at Ft. Benning by sitting in meditation and prayer. I believe she served at least 6 months or a year in federal prison for her witness. She is a true American hero and an example that those on the left can be true patriots as well. Of course there are now many SOA training schools in many parts of the world. I’m sure a new one is being cranked up again in Brazil with the election of its now fascist president.
